We are a weaving school that focuses on 18th and 19th century tools, techniques, traditions and textiles and we welcome visitors to see our 200 year old looms and even try weaving on one. We occasionally offer hand wovens for sale and are interested in offering cloth yardage from locally raised flax and wool, for 2025.
The school seeks to be the center for learning about all things related to crafting cloth from locally raised fibers. With visiting instructors and various topics of interest students are welcome to explore their particular interest using the historic tools, techniques, and traditions Kathryn has learned and continues to learn from Marshfield School of Weaving and more recently, Kate Smith of Weaver’s Croft.
