What is the NY Fiber Trail?
A self-guided tourism experience through New York State centered around yarn, fiber and fiber crafts.

What shops, farms and businesses are participating?
Lots! Find the list of participating businesses HERE.

When is it happening?
You will have from May 1 to October 31, 2026 to visit as many shops, fiber farms and studios along the trail as possible. A your first stop, pick up a NY Fiber Trail passport and have it signed/stamped at every shop you visit during the season.

How do I get a passport?
You can pick up a passport at any participating business. Bring it with you as you visit stops on the trail to collect signatures/stamps at each shop, farm or studio that you stop at!

What do I get for participating?
Amazing yarn, fiber and experiences!

But wait, there’s more! At the end of the season, send us a photo your signed/stamped passport in for a chance to win some amazing prizes!

Please note: you DO NOT need to fill up the whole passport to submit it a the end of the season.

How do I send in my passport?
You’ve got options:

  • Fill in THIS online form & attach a photo of your passport
  • Email your name, address and a photo of your stamped passport to trail.hvtextileproject@gmail.com
  • Mail the passport to Hudson Valley Textile Project, 18 Hudson St., Mechanicville, NY 12118Passports must be received by November 15.

I have a lot of signatures on my passport, but it’s not completed. Can I still enter for the gift card drawing?
Yes! The participant with the most signatures will win a $150 gift basket (filled with gift cards, yarn, fiber, and more), $100 gift basket – 2nd most stamps, and $50 gift basket – 3rd most stamps. In the event of a tie, the top winners will share equally in the value of the three gift baskets.

ANYONE who submits a Passport with stamps on it from locations in at least three regions will be entered in a drawing to win one of several great prizes – all donated by Trail locations!

What else can I do when visiting shops?

Shop, eat and stay in the communities you visit! Explore all New York has to offer while finding your new favorite fibery, yarney spaces. Find favorite places to eat, stay and visit in the community. We hope you will plan a day (or two) around shopping for yarn, wool and fiber-centric crafts.

How much does this cost?
Nothing! The NY Fiber Trail is completely free for you to participate in.

It’s the middle of winter but I still want to visit shops. How can I find out about them?
Yarn & wool *obviously* aren’t just for the warmer months! You can find information on visiting shops along the trail by visiting the shop information page HERE.

What geographic area of NYS does the trail cover?
The whole dang state!

Can I see the participating shops on a map?
Yes! You can find them all on Google Maps HERE.
