Knitty City is New York City’s favorite (and only!) yarn store on the Upper West Side. They carry a wide selection of yarn from big name brands to small independent dyers. In the Spring and Fall, they invite local small business crafters to for pop-up shops on Saturdays including yarn, stationary, ceramics, and other artisan goods.

In the Summer, Knitty City hosts World Wide Knit in Public Day in Bryant Park. There they teach free beginner knitting lessons and work together to knit scarves for shelters and people in need in conjunction with Bryant Park’s Found But Not Lost project. In February, some of the finished scarves are put up for display in Bryant Park and left for anyone to claim.

They are located just off the 1 train 79th St Station on the ground floor (wheelchair accessible). Join them for knitting circle on Wednesdays from 6-8pm after store hours or their Men’s Night on Thursdays from 6-8pm. LGBTQ friendly. Pet friendly. Asian owned.
